Abstract

ETICS is widely recognized as a good solution to building façade due to thermal comfort, energy consumption optimization and as good mechanical and aesthetical performance. On the other hand, also presents few limitations, especially when related to fire reaction, unless the insulation material would be mineral wool. Based on this reality, is expected to see an increase of mineral wool as key material to support this system, which will bring specificities relate to it, namely the lack of adhesion of the mortars among several spots of the façade. This study presents a working methodology to clarify the main cause for such anomaly and a proposal to minimize or even eliminate it, based on the hypothesis of absorption homogenization of whole insulation board.
