In this study it is described a Statement following the analysis framework proposed by Adam (2001) for the description of textual genres in eight components: semantic, compositional, enunciative, pragmatic, stylistic- phraseological, metatextual, peritextual and material. In this way, the analysis will contribute to the description of this type of text, belonging to the type of legal discourse, a prototypical genre, standardized and described in the Portuguese Penal Code.
