Vol. 39 No. 3 (2025): The Portuguese language in China: teaching, literature, culture, and translation

This special volume of Diacrítica (39.3), “The Portuguese Language in China: Teaching, Literature, Culture, and Translation”, has its origins in the “VI International Forum on Teaching and Studies of the Portuguese Language in China”, which took place in July 2024 at Nankai University, China. However, it is not limited to this event, as it brings together various contributions that explore different perspectives in several areas mentioned in the title of this volume, as well as significant results. Furthermore, there are the works in the Varia and Review sections. Therefore, in this introduction, we briefly describe and discuss the current situation and status of Portuguese in China, followed by a succinct presentation of the texts, their relationships and contributions to the topics addressed here.
