Call for Special Issue Proposals 2027
Call for Special Issue Proposals
Ethics, Politics & Society invites proposals for special issues to be published in forthcoming volumes of the journal.
The journal welcomes high-quality contributions in political philosophy, political theory, normative ethics, mete-ethics, social philosophy, and applied ethics (e.g., bioethics, food ethics, animal ethics, and so on). Special issue proposals should address topics of clear philosophical relevance and contemporary significance, especially those connected to questions of justice, democracy, moral and political agency, public institutions, public reason, rights, equality, global challenges, technology, climate, migration, food justice, intergenerational justice, or other current debates in moral and political philosophy.
Special issues should aim to bring together original research articles that make a significant contribution to ongoing scholarly discussions. Interdisciplinary proposals are welcome, provided that they maintain a clear connection to the journal’s philosophical scope.
Proposal Requirements
Proposals should include the following information:
- Title of the proposed special issue
- Names, affiliations, and contact details of the guest editor(s)
- Aims and rationale of the special issue, including its relevance to the scope of Ethics, Politics & Society
- Description of the topic, including the main research questions or debates to be addressed
- Provisional list of contributors, where available
- Proposed timeline, including dates for submission, review, revision, and final delivery
- Estimated number of articles
- Short biographical note for each guest editor
- Any relevant information about workshops, conferences, or research projects connected to the proposed issue
Editorial and Review Process
All articles submitted to a special issue must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts will be subject to the journal’s standard peer-review procedures. Guest editors will work in coordination with the journal’s editorial team, but final editorial decisions remain with the journal.
Submissions should follow the journal’s author guidelines, including its requirements regarding anonymisation, formatting, abstract length, keywords, word limit, and citation style. For further information about the journal, its scope, and author guidelines, prospective guest editors are encouraged to consult the journal website.
