This paper presents an experimental investigation conducted during a Software Engineering (SE) course at COPPE, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, aimed at evaluating the development and impact of a Virtual Environment (VE) designed for SE education, with a specific focus on software requirements. The study assessed how the immersive nature of VEs contributes to optimizing learning outcomes. The results demonstrated that immersive environments containing key SE elements play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience, improving both student engagement and information retention. Additionally, the use of VEs was found to foster collaboration and practical skill development while minimizing the risks associated with real-world errors. These findings underscore the potential of immersive VEs as valuable tools for advancing modern educational practices in SE.
