This article analyzes how social media algorithms influence the representational dynamics of Generation Z, taking "style" as the object of study, based on the Social Representations Theory and the concept of personal involvement. The research applied online questionnaires to young participants from Espírito Santo, Brazil, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. Processed data indicate that screen time is not directly related to personal involvement but utilizes it as a cognitive filter to significantly affect attitudes, especially behavioral ones, linked to consumption and identity construction. The results also reveal that algorithms systematically maneuver the peripheral dimensions of social representations, reinforcing aesthetic and consumerist patterns, highlighting the need for critical reflection on the psychosocial implications of algorithm-driven interactions within Generation Z’s digital practices.
