Abstract

This article investigates the potential of combining Adaptive Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in quiz games for knowledge assessment through a Rapid Review (RR) of the literature, with the aid of AI for article selection. From the analysis of 7 studies selected from the CAPES Periodicals Portal database, the research concludes that the potential of this synergy is multifaceted, extending beyond simple content personalization. The results indicate that AI can optimize question authoring (Collective Intelligence), enhance engagement through gamification, and offer continuous post-assessment support via chatbots and learning paths. Furthermore, the integration with psychometric models such as Item Response Theory (IRT) ensures a precise assessment of student proficiency, transforming the quiz into a measurement tool for a complete cycle of personalized, motivating, and pedagogically relevant learning. The study acknowledges as a limitation its focus on articles written in Portuguese available in the CAPES Periodicals Portal, concentrating on national production, and suggests future research on testing AI to optimize study recommendation systems.
