This article contributes to the theoretical knowledge related to digital trust and the use of AI in public administration, especially in the electoral sphere, a field of study that currently lacks specialized research in the Peruvian context. Its main objective was to analyze the contribution of digital trust to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) at the National Office of Electoral Processes of Peru (ONPE). The choice of a qualitative approach allows for understanding the scenarios in which digital trust can benefit the implementation of digital services that utilize AI. This approach considers different perspectives based on the experiences of the interviewees (8) and defines strategies that, based on this knowledge, allow for the development and enrichment of viable proposals from the study. Among the main findings, we find that digital trust, as one of the key components of the country's digital transformation, contributes to the implementation of digital services that use AI, serving as a guide for their responsible use for the benefit of ONPE and the public.
