Author Biographies

Carmen Franco Vasquez, Institute of Science Education (ICE-USC), University of Santiago de Compostela

Carmen Franco Vasquez is a tenured university professor in the field of Art Education. She teaches in the Bachelor's Degree programmes in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education and in the Master's Degree programme in Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and Language Teaching at the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela. She is the coordinator of the LITER21 Research Group on Galician Literature, Children's and Young Adult Literature, Literary, Artistic, Intercultural and Educational Research, and a researcher at the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE) at the University of Santiago de Compostela. She belongs to various arts education associations, including the Ibero-American Network for Arts Education (RIAEA), the C3 Artistic Intervention Group, the Iberian and Ibero-American Thematic Research Network on Children's and Young Adult Literature (LIJMI) and ICOM (International Council of Museums). She is the author of several articles on Art Education and Illustration in Children's and Youth Literature. She coordinates the INNOV-ARTE Teaching Innovation Group (Art Education and Innovation).

Sara Reis da Silva, CIEC | Institute of Education | University of Minho

Sara Reis da Silva is an Associate Professor with Qualification at the University of Minho (Institute of Education) and a researcher at the Centre for Research in Child Studies (CIEC). She holds a PhD in Children's Literature (LI) from the University of Minho with a thesis entitled Presença e Significado de Manuel António Pina na Literatura Portuguesa para a Infância e a Juventude (The Presence and Significance of Manuel António Pina in Portuguese Literature for Children and Young People), published (2013) by FCG/FCT. She has a postdoctorate in Children's Literature from the University of Santiago de Compostela. She teaches and conducts research in the field of literary studies, particularly literature for children and young adults, as well as in other related areas such as Literary Education, Didactics and Reading Promotion/Mediation.
