Special Issue
First years: development, early childhood intervention, and inclusion
Guest Editors
Ana Tomás Almeida, Minho University
Ana Maria Serrano, Minho University
Ana Paula Pereira, Minho University
The topic of this Special Issue of the Child Studies journal aims at addressing areas of research and intervention with an increasing projection for children’s well-being. Aligning development, early childhood intervention and inclusion in early years, we seek to revisit the conceptual meaning of each of these key concepts in empirical studies and policy briefs featuring a wide range of interdisciplinary perspectives.
The editors are inviting papers from contributors focusing on interrelated aspects of young children’s development, evidence-based practices in early childhood intervention, inclusion perspectives and approaches in early childhood education, as well as illustrative works of specific theoretical, methodological and practical issues involved in the innovation and advances of real-world practices led by comprehensive research frameworks.
Papers for this Special Issue are accepted in the English language and varying extension up to 4000 words for short papers and between 6000 to 8000 for long papers.
