About the Journal

Ethics, Politics & Society is an open-access academic journal with peer review dedicated to the publication of high-level contributions in the fields of political philosophy, political theory, normative and applied ethics. The journal focuses on issues related to justice and democracy, and on current issues in moral philosophy and applied ethics. Ethics, Politics & Society accepts submissions of original manuscripts and proposals for special issues and book symposia.

Publication frequency: twice a year, continous publication model

Access policy: This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. The authors maintain the copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Authors are authorized to make available the version of the text published in institutional repositories or other platforms for distribution of academic works.

The Journal's access to authors who wish to publish their work is free of charge. No fees are charged for sending, processing and/or publishing the submitted texts.

Ethical statement:

EP&S journal is guided by high standards of quality and scientific integrity. To discourage and avoid plagiarism, EP&S requires authors, upon acceptance of their manuscript, to state that it has not been published before or elsewhere and to be entirely their own.

If fraud is detected, before or after publication, the editors will confront the author with the situation and, if necessary, inform the institution of the author's affiliation about the ongoing procedure. 

All agents involved in the publication should disclose any foreseeable conflict of interests, stating research funding sources when relevant.

Peer-review process:
1. Manuscripts submitted to EP&S for publication are subject to the evaluation of at least two expert reviewers under a blind-review process. Reviewers include members of the editorial board and external experts. They are asked to provide detailed feedback, according to the journal's evaluation form, by taking into account the following criteria: overall quality of the manuscript, relevance to the scope of the journal, originality;  argumentive cogency; clarity of expression. 

2. The reviews shall include one of the following recommendations: publish without any modifications; publish with minor modifications; to publish with significant changes; decline publication. The editor can invite authors to revise the paper before accepting a new submission. 

3. Reviewers should back their assessments with clear and concise arguments, avoiding subjective comments. Reviewers should disclose any foreseeable conflict of interest. Reviewers are asked to submit their assessment within 5 weeks from accepting to review the manuscript.
