Abstract

Progredir is a plan of the Brazilian Federal Government to promote the autonomy of low-income families, by offering professional training courses and, from 2022, it began to be implemented by the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, within the scope of the Quarta Colônia UNESCO Global Geopark (QCUGGp). It aims at the professional qualification of people enrolled in the Cadastro Único in a non-formal education process, associated with tourist and cultural activities in the region, with a view to the socioeconomic and productive inclusion of this population. For the period between 2022 and 2023, 80 courses are planned, in 4,100 hours of training, for 2,460 people, primarily young people aged 18 to 29, and, in addition to this qualified training, a course kit is available (school material), handouts, snacks and caregivers for children from 0 to 6 years old, daughters of mother students.
