Abstract

Ecocriticism is a new paradigm in Literary Studies. This essay has as main purposes: 1) To reconstruct the path of Ecocriticism, since its institutionalization in the 1990s until today; 2) To highlight the relevance of literary studies on the environment; 3) To dentify the multidisciplinary nature of Ecocriticism and its current and future trends.
