Integration of visually impaired people in the labour market in Portugal: contributions to the identification of good practices
Keywords:
visual impairment, employment, good practices, people managementAbstract
Recent statistical data and studies carried out in Portugal reveal the difficulty that people with visual impairment face in integrating the labour market. The present work was developed with the objective of identifying and promoting good practices that employers can (and should) adopt. We also hope that this work can contribute to the promotion of the integration of people with visual impairments in the labour market. For this purpose, a literature review was carried out, with emphasis on national and European recommendations in this field and studies carried out in Portugal whose goal was precisely centred on understanding the professional integration process of people with visual impairments.
