Abstract

Work is the essential element to guarantee the subsistence of most of the world’s population. However, work, in countless situations, is far from being a means of guaranteeing health, safety and dignity for many workers. It is true that the world of work has undergone several metamorphoses over the last few decades. For example, it would be expected that technical and technological advances could significantly resolve the difficulties of real work. Unfortunately, this was not always the case. In fact, there is strong evidence that work-related suffering has increased in different sectors of activity and management techniques have made a great contribution to ensuring that this suffering is resolved.
