Special issue – Contexts, Practices, and Repertoire(s) for Classic Guitar: Perspectives and Current Research Topics

This special issue of Diacrítica follows the “1st Braga Guitar Conference” (UM/CEHUM), held in 2022. 

The editors invite authors to submit articles that reflect the diversity of approaches and multidisciplinary around Classical Guitar contexts, practices, and repertoire(s).  

We invite specialists to submit the outcomes of their research in the fields of Performance Studies, Musicology, Pedagogy of Music, and Cultural Studies converging with the following thematic areas:

  • Classical Guitar and music performance research, focusing on technical and performative aspects;
  • Repertoire for Classical Guitar, with a focus on works and composers;
  • Historical approaches to Classical Guitar and its performance contexts, including traditional chordophones and ‘new’ musical instruments;
  • Theoretical and pedagogical approaches to Classical Guitar teaching.
