A dialogue on artistic research in academia: between project, process and achievement

Abstract

We present a transcription of an interview to João Soares, who was the director of the PhD in Architecture at the University of Évora when the interview was conducted (13/01/2015). This dialogue was carried out within the scope of an investigation into doctoral programs in Portugal where an artistic object of creation is possible to be developed in conjunction with a dissertation. It is concluded that in academia, particularly in the field of architecture, it is a dialectical relationship that is established between project, process and concretization.
