Information For Authors

Interested in submitting to this journal? We recommend that you review the About the Journal page for the journal's key policies, as well as the Author Guidelines. Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.

After submission, the article will be subject to a double-layered review procedure. The first layer of the review procedure consists of an editorial review. In the editorial review, the editor will evaluate whether the subject matter of the manuscript falls within the scope of the UNIO – EU Law Journal and review the manuscript for compliance with the journal’s policies and Author Guidelines. The Editor will reject articles that fall outside of the scope of the UNIO – EU Law Journal or that do not comply with the journal’s policies. Authors of articles that are not in compliance with the Author Guidelines will be invited to review and resubmit their articles.

Articles that fall within the subject matter of the UNIO – EU Law Journal and are in compliance with the journal’s policies and Author Guidelines will be subject to a double-blind peer review process to ensure impartial evaluation (the second layer of the review procedure). Peer reviewers will be scholars with a strong track record in the subject matter of the article. Reviewers and authors remain anonymous, mitigating potential biases and promoting fair assessment solely based on the quality of the submitted manuscript. Reviewers may recommend one of the following outcomes: (i) accept the article in its current form; (ii) accept the article, subject to minor revisions; (iii) accept the article, subject to major revisions; or (iv) reject the article. Authors will be provided with the result of the peer review process. The UNIO – EU Law Journal works with its peer reviewers to ensure that the peer review process is as quick as possible.

Articles that are accepted following the peer review process will go through a final language review and then our copyediting and production processes before publication.
