Organized by Karla Holanda and Marina Cavalcanti Tedesco, the book, in 16 chapters, addresses the context of cinema made by women in Brazil and contemplates the various phases of Brazilian cinema. It also discusses the feminist and resistant speech during the military dictatorship, the historiography of women in cinema, the role of black women in the Brazilian cinematographic context, erotic cinema, and questions power relations, social and political struggles, and the organization of women in the audiovisual context. The volume represents a rescue of the history and memory of Brazilian cinema made by women and encourages feminist critical thought in the field of cinema.
