Abstract

The present paper aims at discussing one of the legacies of migration: child bilingualism. Having the Portuguese-descendent migration flow as example, we intend to discuss the biological nature of the acquisition of two languages in childhood, which is triggered by the existence of various languages in the multilingual space, a by-product of the migration process.
