‘Cânceres, tumores, viados que proliferam’
A doença oncológica virada 'queer', no cinema brasileiro contemporâneo

Utilizando como ponto de partida os múltiplos desafios intersecionais no que se refere aos cuidados do câncer no Brasil contemporâneo, este artigo realiza uma análise detalhada do filme Bixa Travesty (2018), no qual o câncer é estreitamente ligado à existência marginal da protagonista. Trata-se de um documentário sobre a vida e obra artística da funkeira negra e trans Linn da Quebrada, no qual a sua história oncológica (do câncer do testículo) é repetidamente associada à sua identidade queer. Este texto examina as técnicas explícitas e implícitas que o filme utiliza para retratar a dupla marginalização da paciente, assim como as múltiplas maneiras de encarar a malignidade, num sentido tanto fisiológico como societário. Argumenta-se que Bixa Travesty apresenta formas positivas, libertadoras e não-heteronormativas de encarar o câncer, que poderiam ser benéficas para profissionais da saúde, pacientes com doenças oncológicas e/ou outras pessoas marginalizadas na sociedade brasileira atual.
