  • Galicia and the World in Portuguese. Cultural Relations

    Volume 39.2 of Diacrítica brings together the thematic dossier Galicia and the World in Portuguese. Cultural Relations, whose initial origins lie in the XIV Congresso Internacional da Asociación Internacional de Estudos Galegos. Horizontes dos Estudos Galegos e/na Lusofonia (University of Minho, April 17-20, 2024). The contributions gathered under the title Galicia and the World in Portuguese. Cultural Relations explore, from different perspectives and focusing on various themes and periods, the Galician-Portuguese(-Lusophony) relational framework. In addition to a concise presentation of the contributions, this introduction offers a brief overview of the relational trajectory under study, in order to adequately contextualize the selected works, all of which originate from the Social Sciences and Humanities.

    This volume of Revista Diacrítica brings together a diverse set of contributions that propose innovative readings on issues of heritage, language, culture, technology and representation, based on different objects of study and disciplinary areas. The thirteen texts that comprise this issue reflect the vitality of research and the capacity for dialogue between different fields of knowledge. They intersect with historic times, discursive practices, artistic objects and interpretive experiences that stimulate critical reflection on language and the world by analysing different cultural and artistic practices, such as literature, translation, music, cinema and the visual arts.
